Vegan wine & dine? Downtown Tucson hot spot pairs great vegan dishes with vegan wines
- Downtown Tucson hot spot — La Chingada — has paired Vegan Wines with its vegan dishes to create a “must taste” option. Vegan Wines was introduced into the Arizona market by Fuego Fino, Inc, a women-led, planet first distributor of alcohol.
Phoenix, Arizona, 11 Aug 2021, ZEXPRWIRE, “Our Vegan Enchiladas are filled with a delicious mix of garbanzo beans and veggies. We smother them in our house-made guajillo red salsa, then top them off with fresh onion, cilantro and avocado slices. They are served with a side of black refried beans, salad and cilantro lime rice. In the last couple of years we’ve been noticing a growing demand for more vegan options in the restaurant industry. This sparked our interest and we as owners decided to challenge ourselves to a 100% plant-based diet for 45 days. We became committed and creative. This is where our chickpea enchiladas and tacos were born. I honestly enjoy them as much or more than the traditional chicken and cheese enchiladas. Fuego Fino’s team has brought in Vegan Wines — which are seed-to-bottle vegan certified — allowing us to enhance the experience that we hope all of those living and visiting Tucson will enjoy. I think the key here is education, I had no idea that all wines were not vegan, and the fact that animal products were traditionally used to filter wine. We are all learning and growing, and we hope that we can continue to provide dishes that evolve to make an enjoyable experience for all us,both vegan and those striving to be better,” says Jessica Altamirano of La Chingada restaurant.
ABOUT LA CHINGADA RESTAURANT TUCSON
Since opening its doors in late 2020, La Chingada has grown to become a must-visit for Mexican cuisine in Downtown Tucson. Its inspiration is the byproduct of Manuel Cordova, a local real estate developer who made use of an artistic mix of rich woods, Spanish tile patterns, and pendant lighting to create the look and feel of a swanky establishment, topped off with paintings of Mexican icons like Frida Kahlo. All of the art is original and one-of-a-kind, hand-painted by one of Tucson’s local artists. It is no mistake that La Chingada has grown to become a melting pot of patrons who enjoy Spanish cuisine and a relaxed atmosphere. La Chingada Cocina is located at 31 N. Scott Avenue, Tucson, Arizona 85701. You can stop by Sunday-Monday for brunch between 9am-3pm and dinner Wednesday-Sunday between 5pm-10pm.
“I am happy to see the Vegan selections of wines off to a good start in Arizona. La Chingada is a great location, and the pairing of this dish with the wines is a combination that I hope all will have the opportunity to enjoy,” says Fuego Fino, Inc CEO Jessica Contreras.
