Corona incidence in Thuringia at 108.4

According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the corona incidence for Thuringia was 108.4 on Wednesday morning. The previous day, the value was still reported at 125.8. Thus, Thuringia continues to be the state with the lowest incidence. Nationwide, the incidence was 281.8 on Wednesday.

However, experts assume that many corona cases are not recorded because positive rapid tests are not always followed by a PCR test. Only these are counted in the statistics. In addition, not all health authorities report their data up-to-date on a daily basis, especially on weekends and at the beginning of the week there may be a delay.

According to RKI, 402 new infections were reported for the Free State. The total number of registered cases has thus increased to 708,434 since the beginning of the pandemic in the spring of 2020. In addition, five more deaths have been recorded. According to the official figures, there have been 7274 deaths in connection with the coronavirus in Thuringia since the beginning of the pandemic.
