SK Telecom’s AI data center architecture certified by UN body as global standard

SK Telecom (SKT), Korea’s biggest telecommunications company, said Wednesday its artificial intelligence (AI) data center interconnection architecture has been certified as a global standard by a United Nations-affiliated body. The International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) telecommunication standardization sector, known as ITU-T, approved SK Telecom’s proposal defining interconnection and signaling requirements for data center operations at an ITU-T meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, earlier this month, the company said in a release. The ITU-T develops international standards for information and communication technologies, with participation from 190 member states and 900 organizations.
