Lee Jung-hoo of the San Francisco Giants has put together his first five-hit game in the majors, as his batting average reached .300 for the first time in over a month. Lee batted 5-for-6 with two RBIs and a run as the Giants pounded the Colorado Rockies 19-6 at Coors Field in Denver on Sunday (local time). This was Lee’s third game back from a stint on the 10-day injured list with a back strain. And in those three games, Lee has gone 11-for-15 to raise his batting average from .268 to .304. Lee had last hit .300 on April 28. Batting fifth, Lee fired the opening salvo with an RBI single in the top of the first inning. He flied out to left in the third inning, but it was the last time he failed to get a hit in this game. Lee led off the fifth with a double to kick-start a seven-run outburst for the Giants. Lee singled in his second at-bat of the fifth inning. Lee then delivered an RBI single in the seventh and had another single in the eighth before being lifted for pinch runner Victor Bericoto. Lee was one of five San Francisco players with at least three hits. They outhit the Rockies 25-10.
