
More than 40 injured after coach accident near Laudenbach
In a serious accident in Bavaria, dozens of people are injured, some of them seriously. The exact cause of the accident is still unclear. Police and firefighters are on the scene with a large contingent.
In the collision of a coach with a car, 41 people were injured in Lower Franconia. Three of them were seriously injured in a hospital, as the police announced on Tuesday. The other victims suffered minor injuries. After the accident, the federal highway 469 near Laudenbach was closed in both directions. Emergency services, fire brigade and police were on site with many forces.
The accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon directly on the Hessian-Bavarian state border west of Würzburg. At first, a police spokesman did not know where the coach came from. All 38 bus passengers were slightly injured. The bus driver and two passengers of the car – a minibus – were seriously injured. At first, nothing was known about her identity.
According to initial findings, the car had hit the oncoming lane for a previously unknown reason and crashed head-on into the coach. An expert was at the scene of the accident in the afternoon to clarify the cause. Further details were initially unclear.
