New Mini Countryman unveils world’s first in Korea
Mini unveiled a new car in Korea for the first time in brand history for 60 years. He is a 4-door SAV countryman.
Mini Korea held the New Mini Countryman World Premier event on the 24th at Everland Forest Camp in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do.
Countryman is the only four-door SUV that boasts the largest size in a mini-brand. Mini is redefining the SUV lineup as a sports activity vehicle (SAV) to emphasize dynamism.
Countryman has sold more than 540,000 units worldwide since its debut in 2011. It is recognized for its marketability to account for 30% of the current brand sales. The new car improved its design, space, and convenience items by changing the second-generation part.
“Korea is a dynamic region with a long history, and there are many similarities to a mini that has been recognized as a young iconic brand for 60 years,” said Bernd Körber, global mini general in a video message. “The world premiere event of the new countryman was held in Korea, considering the most successful response to 19 and the 15th anniversary of Mini’s entry into Korea.”
The New Mini Countryman has five full-size seats with a generous size of more than 4m in length. The trunk capacity is extended to a maximum of 1390 liters by folding the back seat back, which is folded to the default 450 liters and 40:20:40.
New options are available including Chester Indigo Blue and Chester Malt Brown leather seats. The Cooper S, Cooper SD, and Cooper SE ALL4 have standard piano black interior surface design on the driver’s seat and door bezel. Choosing a mini-ours shaded silver interior style will create a more refined and dynamic atmosphere.
The New Mini One Countryman and New Mini Cooper Countryman are equipped with a three-cylinder petrol turbo engine. The high-performance Mini Cooper S Countryman is equipped with a four-cylinder petrol turbo engine with the highest output of 178 horsepower. The diesel lineup is based on a four-cylinder diesel, and the new MINI One D Countryman has a three-cylinder diesel engine.
Fuel efficiency and eco-friendliness were simultaneously strengthened. Particulate filters were added to the gasoline engine, and the diesel engine improved the selective reduction catalyst (SCR). All vehicles meet Euro 6 d stringent emission regulations.
In addition, the gasoline engine incorporates an exhaust manifold and a turbocharger into the cylinder head and improves combustion efficiency by increasing the maximum fuel injection pressure to 350 bar. The diesel engine is equipped with the latest common rail system that injects fuel at a pressure of up to 2500 bar. Cooper D and higher models were equipped with a two-stage turbocharger system.
All-wheel drive system’ALL4′ can be applied to most products except the 3-cylinder lineup. Fast and accurate electronic control provides excellent driving stability and agility regardless of road conditions or weather.
The connected function was also strengthened. The vehicle is equipped with a SIM card, so you can use a variety of digital services such as intelligent emergency calls and MINI teleservices. Voice assistant’Amazon Alexa’, Apple Carplay, real-time traffic information service. It also supports automatic navigation updates.
Custom product composition is also a strength of the mini. You can choose from a variety of products, such as bike stands, roof boxes, and trunk mats, as well as custom mini LED door projectors developed with the Mini Us program.
Pricing and detailed specifications will be released at launch. The domestic launch is in the fourth quarter.
